Pu-Erh Teas "Pu-Cha"PuerStore

"Pu-Cha" comes from Yunnan Province in the far West. These tea leaves are grown on trees and shrubs, and are processed in both Green and Red tea styles. The taste of these teas "mellow" over time, and increase in value as they get older. Pu-Cha is well regarded for its' ability to aid in digestion, and lower cholesterol. These teas are available in Loose Leaf and Bricks (compressed into hard or semi-hard blocks in disc, square, mushroom shape).

Green Pu-Erh "Sheng Pu"

Green Pu-Cha is strong, and relatively bitter tasting, untill it has aged for a few years or more. These teas, when properly stored and aged untill they become sweet, are the "ultimate tea" with Pu-Erh afficionados.

Green Loose Leaf Teas "San Cha"

Loose leaf teas age very quickly compared to teas pressed into bricks, as far more tea leaf surface has constant exposure to air and humidity causing oxidation/aging.

1) 2003 "Qian Nien Gu Su Zi Ye" (1000 Year Old Purple Wild Tea)
Loose leaf Sheng-Pu tea, gigantic fat sized buds like no other tea I have seen before. Even though most of the dry buds/stems are so dark purple they are nearly black, the beverage is a mere clear/green color, as a Sheng-Pu should be! Wet buds are about 30% purple, and look so big it is as if you are inspecting them under a magnifying glass. Highly floral nose, big rich taste, sweet finish which all goes on and on for countless infusions. One of Chinas’ most rare teas.
$68.00/100g,loose leaf

Red Loose Leaf Teas "San Cha"

7) Spring 2008 Menghai Gong Ting Bing Cha.
Superb premium grade 357g Shu-Pu bing cha of classic “tiny” budshoots, no stem, loaded with gold tips. This run of bing cha is a “soft pressing”, producing a spongy somewhat pliable disc that is easy to break up by hand, without using a tea knife. More importantly, it will oxidize faster over the years, similar to loose leaf San Cha that is so well known for having the most mellow flavors in the world of Shu-Pu erh . Elegantly wrapped in earth-tone paper with pastel Peacock and maroon ancient script. Clean taste, extremely smooth, mellow, and rich. Very unusual for a tea right off the shrub to taste like this.
